EVENT FAB: The 2011 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

After the Oscar ceremony ended last night, many of our YBF celebs attended the 2011 Vanity Fair Oscar Party hosted by Graydon Carter.  Come inside and see Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Hudson and others at one of the weekend's most glamourous events.

Selita Ebanks was one of the many beauties at the party. I'm not sold on the gown though.

But Gabrielle Union looking stunning in this dark blue gown with pair of dangling earrings.

Mr. Jaime Foxx looked very dapper.

But I didn't like this dress on Zoe Saldana.

The red and pink lace with the pinkish pumps...not very appealing.

John Singleton was among the guests at the dinner.

Inside, Jamie posed with Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake.

While Forest Whitaker and his wife Keisha posed with Jason Wu.  Looking good Keisha.

Jennifer Hudson stopped the world in this tangerine Versace gown.  She looked fierce and fabulous.

50 Cent chatted with Rosario Dawson.

Meanwhile, Kerry Washington was spotted with Joy Bryant.

Miss Serena looked nice posing with Brett Ratner.  They look very comfortable together.

Jake Gyllenhaal hung out with 50 Cent.

Anthony Mackie posed with Ellen Barkin.

Lyor Cohen, Russell Simmons and Rick Rubin took a great pic together.

The icon, Mr. Sidney Poitier, was also there.

Natalie Portman Wins Best Actress Oscar for Black Swan

Natalie PortmanA gorgeous Natalie Portman made her way carefully to the stage to accept her first Academy Award for her starring role in Black Swan, directed by Darren Aronofsky. Getting a hug from Jeff Bridges, Portman was greeted with what could have been the loudest round of applause of the night from the celebrity audience.

"Thank you so much to the Academy. This is insane, and I truly wish the prize tonight was to get to work with my fellow nominees. I'm so in awe of you. I am so grateful to get to do the job that I get to do. I love it so much," said Portman, shedding a few tears.

Billy Crystal Remembers Bob Hope in Return to the Oscars (Video)

From PopEater: Eight-time Oscar host Billy Crystal returned to his most famous stage to a rousing standing ovation. Crystal, who hasn't hosted the show since 2004, came to introduce a segment featuring Bob Hope hosting the first televised Oscars.

"So where was I," Crystal joked when hitting the stage. "Some things never change. The producers have asked me to tell you we are running a little long, so here are the nominees for Best Picture."

"The first televised Oscars was in 1953. I was five years old so for those of you who stink in math I'm 47. The host that year was Bob Hope. He hosted it 18 times, I hosted it eight and I was popped after two. Bob was the Oscars. He was funny, he was classy and he was what I think the Oscar host must be: a sexy movie star."

Move Over, James Franco: 5 Stars Who Would Have Done Better as Oscar Host

The Oscars are done, and by the look of it, so is James Franco's career as an Oscar host.

The multitalented star seemed to be sleepwalking through the entire show, delivering his lines half-heartedly. Perhaps the excitement of hosting and being nominated wore him out. Or perhaps, after Ricky Gervais' incendiary hosting at the Golden Globes, the Oscars' lighter comedic fare didn't motivate him much.

But enough with the past; it's time to set our sights on next year. We need a host who is funny, confident and has the stamina to host a four-hour show. Also, it would be really nice if he or she could sing and dance, or at least savagely make fun of people who sing and dance.

Who has the chops and Hollywood pedigree to pull that off? Keep reading to see who we think has the right stuff.

Oscar Preview: Can 'King's Speech' Be Dethroned?

The period drama seems poised to take the Best Picture crown once promised to 'The Social Network.'
By Eric Ditzian

Colin Firth in "The King's Speech"
Photo: Weinstein Company

If the 83rd Academy Awards had been held a month ago, shortly after the critics groups had doled out their prizes and the final glasses of champagne had been drained at the Golden Globes, "The Social Network" would almost certainly have nabbed Oscar's Best Picture statue. After all, David Fincher's film about the salacious founding of Facebook hardly encountered a critics group it didn't woo and win over, before going on to earn four Globes, including Best Motion Picture - Drama. What could possibly stand between "Social Network" and the Academy's top honor?

As it turns out, another month. And another biopic, this one telling a story that begins some 80 years ago and resembling a far more traditional Oscar film than Fincher's exploration of youth and digital beauty. "The King's Speech" bounced back from its Globe defeats (it nabbed just one of seven nominations, with Colin Firth taking top dramatic actor) and secured important wins from the Producers Guild of America, the Directors Guild of America and the Screen Actors Guild.

So much for creating a big tent with the inclusion of 10 Best Picture nominees. Like last year, we find ourselves watching a two-horse race that, at this point, might not be all that close. Kudos to "Toy Story 3," "Winter's Bone" and "Inception," but their nominations are kind of the equivalent of pity invites to a kid's birthday party: Sure, the birthday boy was forced to request the pleasure of your company, but he's not going to pretend you're anything more than a seat-filler. Our man Oscar holds the most exclusive birthday party in Hollywood, and its voters like it that way.

What's interesting this year is the nature of the two-horse race. In 2010, it came down to a decision between a populist fave in "Avatar" that made a gazillion dollars at the box office and a critics' darling in "The Hurt Locker" that maybe six people saw in the theater. Both "Social Network" and "King's Speech," meanwhile, have almost identical box-office grosses and high-90s ratings at the Rotten Tomatoes review aggregator. The difference between the two is that "King's Speech" is the kind of film that could have been an Oscar nominee a decade ago — or a half-century ago — whereas "Social Network," in everything from story line to subtext to soundtrack, is directly plugged into 2011.

That's not to suggest "King's Speech" is some musty relic of yesteryear, nor that contemporary relevancy is a requirement for Oscar glory. The key, rather, is that the best film should win. And if you ask us, the finest film of the year is "Social Network." But as in so many years past — from how "Gladiator" bested "Traffic" to the way "Shakespeare in Love" beat out, well, geez, take your pick! — the best film of the year doesn't always receive that Oscar honor.

We can talk about momentum, we can indentify vital precursor wins, we can cite all manner of historical facts and we can lament fuddy-duddy voters. None of it seems to matter. On Sunday night, it appears, a very good film but hardly the year's best will win Best Picture. Let's offer our early congratulations to "The King's Speech."

Which Oscar contender should take Best Picture? Share your pick in the comments!

Will it be a regal evening for "The King's Speech"? Can "The Social Network" dial up Oscar gold? Christina Applegate, Jason Sudeikis Hall Pass Interviews

Christina Applegate at the Hall Pass premiereChristina Applegate had fun making Hall Pass and was happy to talk about it at the film's premiere, but she admitted she couldn't wait to get off the red carpet and home to her baby. Applegate, who gave birth to Sadie Grace on January 27th, talked about being a new mom at the Hall Pass premiere: "She's changed my life in the sense that I want to go home so badly right now I can't even stand it. And I will be - I'm leaving right after this. But I didn't know that you could love like that. My mother has told me that all these years, like, 'Wait until you're a mother and you'll see.' And you really don't know it until it happens. It's just unreal."

Mark Ruffalo Reveals Hulk Re-Design For 'Avengers'

'All the features are mine, just really big,' actor says of new look.
By Shawn Adler, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

Mark Ruffalo will soon join Edward Norton and Eric Bana as the third actor to portray Dr. Bruce Banner in as many big-screen adventures, but when the Incredible Hulk finally lines up next to Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and the rest of Marvel's mightiest to take on evils no single one of them can handle on their own, it won't just be the good doctor you'll have trouble recognizing: It might be the jade giant himself.

"The Avengers" will diverge from previous versions of the character and feature its own re-designed rendering of the green behemoth to more accurately reflect the new actor playing him, Ruffalo revealed to MTV News on the red carpet at the Independent Spirit Awards.

Ruffalo said the character's designers are working hard to make the Hulk look like him: "All the features are mine, just really big. I got to see the maquette of the Hulk yesterday in full scope, and it's awesome."

The re-design makes the most of new technology being utilized for the flick, with Ruffalo donning performance-capture suits akin to the ones used by Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana for "Avatar." According to the Oscar-nominated actor, it'll be the first time the same actor has played both incarnations of the character.

"I'll be playing it. I'm the first actor to actually do it in motion capture as the Hulk," he said.

Back when the project was initially announced, rumors swirled that the Hulk might actually start out as the villain, tricked perhaps by Loki, as he did when the Avengers first assembled in comics.

While predictably tight-lipped about his role in the plot, Ruffalo did compliment the script, insisting that the film was right "in [director] Joss Whedon's wheelhouse."

"It's cool. It's gonna be great," he enthused. "The script is a nice combination of funny with pathos."

How to Throw the Perfect Oscar Party: Food & Drink Recipes and More

The annual Academy Awards telecast is notorious for being a tad too long, and at times rather snooze-worthy, so we suggest you throw a themed fiesta to spice up the evening.

If you do it right, your Oscar party should cover some essential: friendly competition (play our Oscars pool), laughter (hello, fashion faux pas), plenty of booze (only if you're of legal drinking age), a "speak your mind" policy (yelling at the TV is entirely acceptable) and tons of delicious food (hey, you're not the one who has to walk the red carpet).

So if you've never attended or thrown an Oscar party, we suggest you get into it this year. And to help move you right along, we've partnered up with our friends at Slashfood.com to craft a tasty, tipsy, creative list of Oscar soiree how-to's for you to use Sunday night.

And be sure to check out the best Oscars coverage on the Web right HERE on Moviefone -- we'll be covering fashion hits and misses, real-time winner updates, breakout moments and so much more.

Kelsey Grammer and Kayte Walsh: Married!

Kelsey Grammer and Kayte Walsh are now husband and wife, just two weeks after his divorce from Camille Grammer was finalized. Congratulations, we think!

The pair exchanged vows during an afternoon ceremony at the Longacre Theater in Manhattan, where he starred in the Tony-winning La Cage aux Folles.

This is the first marriage for Kayte, 29, and the fourth for Kelsey, 55.

Kayte & Kelsey

After 15 days of legal freedom, Kelsey Grammer is spoken for again!

"Kelsey Grammer and Kayte Walsh were married today at a private ceremony for family and friends," the actor's rep said in a statement.

Kelsey, whose split from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Camille Grammer was chronicled all season on that program, is not looking back.

"I've never been happier in my life," Grammer said of his new life with Kayte Walsh, a British flight attendant. "I'm extremely happy."

Following today's ceremony, the newlyweds and guests headed to the reception at the Plaza Hotel, where the festivities will go until 2 a.m.

Somehow we doubt Camille will be in attendance, but that shouldn't stop her from commenting on the event ad nauseam to gain sympathy/publicity.

'Breaking Dawn' Star Talks Bella's Bridal Gown, Vampire Makeover

Billy Burke, a.k.a. Dad Charlie Swan, tells MTV News he's mostly 'oblivious to everything that's going on with vampires' on set.
By Kara Warner

Photo: MTV News

It's been awhile now since we've had any updates from the castmembers of the highly anticipated "Breaking Dawn" two-part finale. Thus far this year, there have been steamy bedroom photos, talk of Kristen Stewart's impressive transformation into a vampire and Peter Facinelli's thoughts on an epic vampire-on-vampire battle scene at the end of Part 2.

When MTV News caught up with "Breaking Dawn" supporting player Billy Burke recently, he reluctantly gave us the vaguest of answers when we asked about his favorite filming moment so far.

"We are having a lot of fun," Burke said while doing press for his upcoming violent thriller "Drive Angry." "We're in the midst of that now."

Burke, who plays the (mostly) blissfully ignorant father Charlie to Kristen Stewart's Bella, said his character is up to the same old tricks in the final two "Twilight" films.

"I go back in about a week to continue my job in that movie," he said. "Which is being oblivious to everything that's going on with vampires and werewolves."

Those familiar with the vampire films will agree that this is a fair and accurate assessment of his character's story line. Still, we assumed that surely Burke has been privy to a few fun details, so we asked whether his character, Charlie Swan, finds out that his daughter has become a vampire in "Breaking Dawn - Part 1."

"In the first part? No," Burke revealed. "That's no secret, [for] those who have read the books," he explained.

What about Bella's wedding dress? Has he seen that yet?

"No," Burke said with finality, declining to divulge any more "Dawn" details.

Check out everything we've got on "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1."

Read All of This Year's Oscar-Nominated Scripts

With the Oscars creeping up quickly this Sunday, many people are plunking down bets for their favorite films (while debating the pros and cons of Four Loko at their Oscar party). One category that often gets overlooked is Best Screenplay, because most people outside of Hollywood (or hardcore nerds) don't read them. A very precise form of writing, they're not always fun to peruse, but sometimes there's a lot to be admired in a solid script.

It comes down to two categories for Best Screenplay: Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen, and Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material Previously Produced or Published. The first category is exactly what it sounds like -- original material that has not been pulled from an outside source. The latter is borrowed from a book or other source and is then adapted for the big screen. This year's biggest contenders for Best Screenplay are 'The King's Speech' (written directly for the screen) and 'The Social Network' (based on material).

While many are predicting 'The King's Speech' to grab the screenplay Oscar as part of a larger sweep, there's a strong contingent rooting for Christopher Nolan's 'Inception,' especially since he didn't nab a directing nomination. Although the film encouraged conversation, and it'd be nice to see his talked-about work recognized, movies with sci-fi leanings don't usually win. However, 'King's Speech' is also a front-runner for Best Picture, which is often a gimme for Best Screenplay.

Check out all the nominated scripts after the jump ...

'Hall Pass' Review: One Weak Break From Marriage

For being such an accomplished screenwriter, Owen Wilson sure has a bad nose for scripts. 'Hall Pass' is as phony as they come -- a plasticine, high-concept sex comedy so far removed from human reason that you go beyond feeling sorry for the cast and start to hold them in open contempt. In a mere 105 minutes, the Farrelly Brothers work very hard to extinguish Owen Wilson's star power, kill Jason Sudeikis's movie career before it even starts, and paint the lovely Jenna Fischer an ungodly shade of Hulk Hogan orange. If 'Hall Pass' is even remotely indicative of modern sexual politics, a lifelong vow of chastity looks incredibly appealing right about now.

Take, for example, a scene in which Wilson's character verbally dresses down a barista. Family man Wilson's been given a "hall pass" by his frustrated wife (Fischer) -- a one-week break from all the commitments of marriage, including sexual fidelity. Because no one in this film behaves like an actual person, Wilson immediately starts chasing tail, specifically an Australian bombshell (Nicky Whelan) who works at his local coffee shop. This enrages her intensely jealous co-worker to the point where he finally speaks up when Wilson's ogling goes too far. Wilson gives him a verbal beatdown in return, meant to be hilarious, all about Wilson's superior social station in life (un-ironically delivered while wearing a Harvard T-shirt), but the scene only comes across as ugly and cruel.
