Sometimes, Oscar attendees decide to go against the convention of dressing like a crazy person on Halloween (Bjork, Cher) and actually look fantastic.
Hopefully you indulged your sadistic side with Moviefone's own Tour de Fugly, but now it's time to play nice and celebrate those celebrities who owned the red carpet. From Audrey to Halle, below are the best dressed Oscar attendees ever. PHOTOS:
Hollywood's biggest night of the year may be happening this Sunday, but that doesn't mean there are no new movies to see in theaters. On the contrary, this weekend includes the release of Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston's "Wanderlust," a new Tyler Perry movie called "Tyler Perry's Good Deeds" and the Navy Seal action flick, "Act of Valor."
For a guide to this week's slate of films, let's take a look at Moviefone's Weekend Movie Preview. NATIONWIDE RELEASES"Wanderlust"What's the story: Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston star as George and Linda, a married couple who live in New York City. When George loses his job, the two are forced to leave the city and look for work elsewhere. However, they end up stumbling upon a hippie commune, where free love and drugs rule. Hijinks ensue. Box office prediction: Aniston is usually a big box-office draw, and Rudd has a dedicated -- albeit smaller -- fan base, too. With no straightforward comedies to compete with this weekend, "Wanderlust" is likely to come in with a pretty decent haul. $13 million[Showtimes & Tickets]"Tyler Perry's Good Deeds"What's the story: Tyler Perry stars as Wesley Deeds, a wealthy businessman who's always done what's expected of him. However, when Wesley stumbles upon a cleaning lady and her son living in the office building, Deeds finds himself trying to do what's right and help her get back on her feet. Box office prediction: Here's how Perry has faired on opening weekend with the last four movies he's directed: $25 million, $19 million, $29 million, $23 million. Although none of the films grossed over $100 million, these numbers pretty much guarantee that Perry's dedicated group of fans will come and support him the first weekend out. $20 million[Showtimes & Tickets]"Act of Valor"What's the story: This unique film stars a group of real-life active-duty Navy SEALs. Inspired by true events, "Valor" starts with the discovery of a terrorist plot against the U.S. The SEALs are soon enlisted to help track down the threat and save the country. Box office prediction: The movie has gotten a strong promotional push, including a trailer during the Super Bowl. However, the high-octane fight scenes and use of real SEALs might not save "Valor," which will likely fall short due to another action-packed film -- one with stars general audiences know ("Safe House"): $10 million [Showtimes & Tickets]"Gone"What's the story: "Gone" stars Amanda Seyfried as Jill Parish, who discovers her sister has been abducted. Jill was kidnapped the year before and thinks the perpetrator behind her sister's disappearance is the same person. However, with no evidence, the police are unable to help, meaning Jill has to go after him on her own. Box office prediction: Lack of trailers + lack of posters = Small returns. $7 millionLIMITED RELEASES The post-apocalyptic "Tomorrow When the War Began" follows a group of high-school friends whose small Australian town is invaded by a mysterious army. Eventually, the teens decide to band together and strike back. Audiences looking for a little Bollywood in their lives can turn to "Jodi Breakers," a musical about dysfunctional relationships. Finally, opening in New York City and Los Angeles is "The Forgiveness of Blood," which follows an Albanian family in the midst of a feud.
Lauren Conrad debuted her new pink hairstyle online yesterday. Awesome new 'do or awful new hue? We're biased towards all things LC, but you make the call!
The 25-year-old tweeted a link to an Instagram pic of her "cotton candy bun" Saturday.
The picture (below) shows streaks of pale pink mixed in with her trademark blonde locks, piled atop her lovely head. If anyone can pull it off:
This is actually not the first time LC has made an unconventional coiffure choice.
In July, the former star of Laguna Beach/ The Hills dyed the ends of her hair different hues of pink and blue. Why that unusual color combo? Her fans voted for it!
"Roses are red, violets are blue," she tweeted. "The color of my hair is up to you!"
Thoughts on LC's pink hair this time around? Vote in our poll below!
Ever since my cousin Kate Middleton became a duchess, I've been more interested in my British roots. So I saw The Iron Lady. Now I know almost as much about the United Kingdom as I do about England. If I've said it once, I've said it 18 times, Meryl Streep is brilliant as Margaret Thatcher. I said it would earn her an Oscar nomination and it did. I can't believe how unbelievably believable she was. I don't know how she did it. Not only does she sound and act like Margaret Thatcher, Meryl also plays her across a few decades. I always knew she was good, but after watching this performance, I think she might be a witch. Whenever someone asks me who should portray me in the movie of my life, I always say the same person -- Taylor Swift. We're practically the same person. But I'd also love to see Meryl Streep play me. She's so good with accents and physicality. Let me tell you, dancing up a flight of stairs isn't as easy as it looks. She really is the greatest actress of our time, and this may be her best performance yet. I can't wait to see what happens on the big night!
Beyonce is offering up a sneak peek into her 2012 House of Deréon Spring/Summer collection. Plus a brand new promo pic for the line--taken while she was still rocking her pregnancy glow. Pic and video inside...
The new mom is starring in her latest campaign for her clothing label, House of Deréon. Shot by famed celebrity & fashion photographer Tony Duran, Beyonce snapped the above promo pic (and more) for the collection before giving birth to Blue Ivy.
And even though we still think this is the House of DamnIt'sStillWrong, the promo pic is gorge, the looks have imporvoed, and the promo video (set to her unofficial track "Schoolin' Life") is catchy:
The newest designs, which are available in the UK at Selfridges and House of Fraser, include a range of dresses and trousers - from short and feminine to floaty maxis and sporty studded styles. All in the mint, pastel, and coral colors of the season.
Actress Janet Hubert is directing her venom at someone OTHER than Will Smith now.....picking Wendy Williams as a target. She lashed out recently at Wendy and called her a bully due to the things she said about Whitney Houston over the course of their careers. Read the letter inside.....
Janet Hubert thinks Wendy Williams is a big ole bully and should stop spreading rumors about celebrities. She thinks Wendy was especially cruel to Whitney Houston throughout the course of her life.
This past weekend was a very difficult time for so many of us.
I watched the funeral service with the rest of the world, and cried time and time again with each story that was told. I felt like I knew more about this amazing woman than ever before. We all watched her as a little girl, center stage, singing like a bird, she was destined for superstardom. To watch her center stage full circle in death was a feeling no mother should ever have to feel. I applaud Ms. Warwick, the pastor, and all others who formed a police line of love and protection around her that was impenetrable only to those who really knew her. We, the public accepted their decision to keep it private, but they allowed us to witness her Home Going ceremony, I don’t know if I could have been so gracious. WE felt like we knew her and we knew nothing about her except what we read and hear from people like you and other media outlets. I listened to her interview with you and was compelled to say out loud. “Go on Whitney tell her like it is,” when you pried into her life back then. I had my son in the same year as Ms. Houston; we did Ebony Magazine that same year, she introducing her baby girl and me my son. I am trying to be dignified, but here goes.
The Internet has become somewhat like the 10 commandments, and this is why… whatever is posted or commented on… is forever written in stone. Neither I nor anybody can stop anyone from making up stories, reviews, lies etc, cutting and pasting whatever they decide to put together like a bad buffet breakfast.
I have had some horrible meals shoved down my throat on the web that I had no parts of.
I still have a bad taste in my mouth from a recent cut and paste meal from your beloved TMZ (THE MUDSLINGING ZONE). I believe you said once “If you heard it on TMZ then it must be true,” really Wendy?
The Internet is indeed the information highway, but it can also be “a Forum of Hate.”
Though I never knew Whitney Houston, I felt a profound sense of loss and sadness. On Sunday morning I took my dog for a walk in the park across the street and still could not shake the sadness I felt. I wondered if what I was feeling was perhaps related to losing my mother and brother this past year, but then I thought no, it was something else.
You (Wendy Williams) said that morning with tears in your eyes, that you would not discuss Whitney any further, but you crucified her the whole time she was alive, as you do so many people on your show. I want to ask you why? What do you get out of this besides money?
How do you sleep at night knowing that you are one of the biggest bullies in the world disguised as HOT TOPICS? Celebrities are not topics we are people, just like everyone else, we hurt and we hear and we bleed real blood, not fake blood, just as you do.
How do we as parents teach our children to honor each other, treat each other with kindness when all they see are images of people like you who condone and promote meanness, rude reality TV stars, and your opinion as you berate world renowned people like Janet Jackson, Gwyneth Paltrow, and others you slam on a daily basis.
I keep asking myself why no one is saying anything about this. What the hell are they afraid of? Where are my sisters out there who feel as I do?
Well Wendy, I try to teach my son to stand up, shout, and scream when there is injustice. Yeah yeah, I know, I have been screaming for years and will continue to do so as long as there are images that depict black women as neck shaking, over bearing women whocan’t get along.
A sister, a mother, a daughter, a star, left this world way too early; she was loved by the world. The world mourned, I don’t think that we needed you to try and take down another brilliant sister on that following Monday morning. (Your rude comments about Janet Jackson)
You started right back up without hesitation or pause… you need to stop Wendy. We need to stop, and the world needs to stop. I need to stop as well. There will be no more quotes from me to be misquoted. We need to join together, wrap our arms around our children, everybody’s children. Remember you have a child who will suffer every slingshot and arrow that gets thrown back at you Wendy; our public lives greatly affect our children.
I know I am going to suffer some arrows for writing this letter to you, I know you are loved by many, but remember this Wendy; they love you when you are up and they love to take you down. You will not always be up, you will not always be on the A list and attend all the parties. Ride the wave sister girl, but make sure you know how to swim when the ride is over. Artists are survivors, we work hard to build our crafts and careers and I ask that you simply remember that in the future.
The Dream is speaking out about his friend Rihanna saying it was her idea to add Chris Brown to the "Birthday Cake (Remix)". He added that if she has forgiven him, so should everyone else. Get the deets inside....
The Dream has spoken out to Billboard about Rihanna's controversial "Birthday Cake Remix" saying,
"For me, it's just music -- two talented people doing a record together, doing two records together, and that's what it was. It wasn't about an incident that happened. The true thing really is to forgive, and… you want to believe in people."
He added,
"It was Rih's idea. Not only do we work together, but [Rihanna] is a friend of mine. And it's like, 'You wanna do something? Then cool, let's do it.' I don't know how she got the logistics and how it happened -- maybe she'll talk about it one day. I showed up at the studio, and it was like, 'All right, cool, let's finish this record,' which we probably should have finished the first time we did it."
All in all, he ended by saying, "Because this is about her, if she can forgive, that's where she is mentally. As a friend, it's like, 'Okay, cool. Let's roll.'"
So it seems like many folks are moving on from the Chris Brown incident from a few years ago. On forgiving Chris, he said,
"I think [the topic] that should be more on the tongues is: how do we proclaim to be a nation of forgiving, and we go by all of these rules and everything, but we can't actually do it? It actually makes you look weaker than your adversary -- if you don't have the power to forgive, but you lie and say that you did.

With "The Hunger Games" just four weeks away from hitting theaters, the cast will embark on a mall tour starting next month.
Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson all will make the rounds during the trek, kicking off March 3. The tour will hit eight cities over the course of a week with stops in Atlanta, Dallas and Los Angeles.
In addition to meet and greets with the big three and other castmembers from the highly anticipated flick, the mall stops will include Q&A sessions and giveaways. The first stop, March 3 at the City of Angels' Westfield Century City, will feature director Gary Ross as well as Lawrence, Hutcherson and Hemsworth.
March 6 at the JW Marriott Atlanta Buckhead in Atlanta, Hemsworth will be joined by Leven Rambin, Dayo Okeniyi, Amandla Stenberg and Jack Quaid. There will be two stops March 7: Hemsworth, Rambin, Okeniyi and Quaid will appear at Scottsdale Fashion Square in Scottsdale, Arizona, while the Westfield Fox Valley in Aurora, Illinois, will host Hutcherson, Isabelle Fuhrman and Jacqueline Emerson.
The following day, March 8, Lawrence, Alexander Ludwig and Stenberg are scheduled for the Westfield Broward Mall in Plantation, Florida, and Hutcherson, Fuhrman and Emerson will be on hand at Galleria Dallas.
Lawrence, Ludwig, Stenberg, Hutcherson, Fuhrman and Emerson will greet fans March 9 at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. The final stop, March 10 at Seattle's University Village, will feature all three of the film's top stars: Lawrence, Hemsworth and Hutcherson.
In addition to the announcement of the mall tour, Wednesday (February 22) marks the first day fans can buy advance tickets to the flick, which opens March 23.
Pop superstar Katy Perry will guest star on Raising Hope on the Tuesday, March 6 episode of the Fox sitcom, the network announced via press release this week.
She'll play a prison attendant who claims to be a former friend of Sabrina's.
The episode will find Sabrina arrested after participating in an Occupy Natesville protest. She ends up in jail, and Perry's Rikki (below) plays a key role there:
How did this come about? Executive producer Greg Garcia said:
“Shannon Woodward (Sabrina) told me that her friend Katy was interested in doing an episode and I thought, ‘Why not? Let's do your friend Katy a favor,’”
“Then she came in and did a terrific job. She was hilarious."
"And now, people are telling me that Katy Perry is also a singer. I sincerely hope her appearance on RH helps her get her career off the ground. It's a tough business.”
Nicely played. We're just sad she doesn't have a blue 'fro.

Perhaps Katy Perry's hair color reflects her mood.
Laying low in recent weeks, the recently separated singer braved the crowds at the LAX airport Monday as she caught a flight out to Singapore with her entourage.
Sporting blue hair, Katy has undergone yet another couture change since her split with Russell Brand. In recent months, she's also been a blonde and a ... pink.
The National Enquirer refuses to let Whitney Houston rest in peace.
The latest issue of this notorious tabloids screams "WHITNEY: THE LAST PHOTO!" and purports to depict a picture of the late singer in her casket.
It was allegedly taken inside Whigham Funeral Home in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday and shows a woman wearing a dark dress, with "Nippy" (Houston's nickname), along with two treble clefs, written in blue script on the lining of the casket cover.
The image - blurred out above - has invoked outrage across the Internet, with Sarah Anne Hughes of The Washington Post referring to it as "shocking and disturbing."
A similar uproar took place in July 2009 when a British tabloid covered an issue with a photo of a dying Michael Jackson being wheeled out on a stretcher.
What do you think of the Enquirer publishing this picture?
After a five year absence, Star Jones returned to "The View" today, as a guest, for a semi-uncomfortable interview about her weight, heart disease and why she left the show. Watch it inside.....
It wasn't always pretty, but Star Jones faced the ladies of "The View" today helping raise awareness about heart disease, gastric bypass and talking about her departure 6 years ago.
Barbara Walters commented: "I say this genuinely: I am so happy to welcome back Star Jones."
SIDEBAR: How geniune it came off is up for debate.
Star commented on the past five years saying, "You've got a new new couch...you've got two black girls. Sherri and I are not the same person. Elisabeth had more children. Joy got married!"
Star tried to stop Ms. Walters when she tried to talk about the past saying, "Are we really going to go here, Barbara? Do we care at this point?! I honestly don't."
But Star went ahead and said the reason she left the show the way she did was (in addition to her contract just not being renewed), "It was ugly. ... It was a bad emotional time. I made the decision that I wanted to go out on my own terms."
Then Barbara talked about Star's gastric bypass saying,
"Just to clear it up, we tried to protect you. We did lie! (JoyBehar also interjected that Star asked them to lie about the gastric bypass.) We were very worried about you."
Babs later added, "You look great. You look healthy. And we really are happy that you're back."
Also, Star's book Satan Sisters, is being made into a VH1 movie that will be produced by Suzanne de Passe.

An apparently topless Rihanna showed off her long blonde hair on Twitter last night. She's rocked everything from massive red curls to a platinum bob with blunt bangs in the past couple of months. Now, she's debuted yet another dramatic 'do.
Which really looks good with no shirt:
The 23-year-old singer tweeted the pic of herself sporting a long, layered blonde style (and not much else!) along with the following message: "#Back2Work 1st Cover of the year!!! #ELLE," followed by "Bleach + weave #WERQ."
Later that night she sat courtside at L.A.'s Staples Center to watch the Clippers (bet you didn't hear THAT three years ago) beat the Nuggets, turning heads with her new locks.
"Basketball Wife" Kesha Nichols may have a friend to swap stories with. The quarterback of the Oakland Raiders, Jason Campbell, is caught up in some serious wedding drama. Deets inside on whether he left his bride, Jenny, at the altar all the way in the Dominican Republic, inside...
This past weekend they were supposed to become husband and wife. But 30-year-old Mississippi native Jason Campbell and 32-year-old fiance Yenicia “Jenny” Montes called off the wedding last minute. Like, uber last minute. So last minute that guests had already flown down to the Dominican Republic wedding destination, his semi-bride's home country, and received the news once they arrived TO THE WEDDING.
VIBE VIXEN reports that Saturday, Jason stood Jenny up just hours before they were supposed to exchange vows. Even with their 7-year on-and-off relationship....that ish is just inexcusable.
Now, Jason denies he "left her at the altar." He instead claims their decision to call off the wedding was "mutual." Jason told CSN Bay Area reporter, Kate Longworth, it's not in his character to do something of that nature. Oh...ok.
The Washington Post says the 162 guests were informed Saturday afternoon of the drama, but weren't given a reason the wedding was called off. They spoke to Jason yesterday, but he would only give vague details. Jason did say he is STILL in the DR with Jenny and her family though:
“I love her enough not to leave her at the altar. I love her enough to talk to her before it gets that far. That stuff is just crazy. Jenny’s a good person and I’m a good person. I don’t even know why people would put all those lies out there.
It’s just the fact that I have a lot going on right now with recovering from injury. There’s just so much going on in both our lives right now.
We’re not trying to force anything right now. We’re taking everything one day at all time, trying to let all the air and the dust clear.”
Jason said the two decided to go ahead with the trip to the Caribbean Island and “just made a vacation out of it.” Oh...
By the way, Jenny tatted herself with her new married initials....which she doesn't even have now. Something tells me she did this after the marriage licenses were filed. Either somebody DID play runaway groom, or something so compelling did in fact make her change her mind as well.
Jason and Jenny met back in 2005 in DC while he played for the Redskins and she was a nightclub hostess. He found her dancing on a bar on her 25th birthday. He proposed on New Year's Eve 2010 (his birthday), and Jenny and her 8-year-old daughter from a previous relationship moved in with him.
The couple has now removed their wedding site.

Not long after Demi Lovato took to Twitter and revealed her new hair color to followers, the above nickname started to trend on the social networking site.
“Thank you SO much Nine Zero One salon for my new locks!! How do you guys like the new look??” the 19-year-old artist wrote yesterday, along with the following photo:
This is far from the first hair color change for Demi. She went red on us in November.
Sound off below: What do you think of Lovato as a blonde? Is it a good change?
Mariah Carey stopped by "Good Morning America" earlier to speak publicly for the first time (besides Twitter) about the loss of her good friend Whitney Houston. Pics and video of the emotional singer revealing how she felt about Whitney, plus updates on her hubby Nick Cannon and her new heart-ful cause.
She's a mom to twins Moroccan & Monroe, a wife (and nurse) to Nick Cannon, and was a good friend to the late Whitney Houston. When Mariah was asked by Robin Roberts today on "GMA" about her relationship with the legendary singer, whom she collabo'd with on "When You Believe," Mariah was very emotional and still in a bit of shock.
Fighting back the tears, she revealed about their relationship, “I’m almost incapable of talking about it. It’s very heavy for me emotionally....It was great and I don't think people could ever understand our relationship ... there was always this supposed rivalry in the beginning and then we did the duet and we became friends. I loved her. We all loved her. May she rest in peace ... her legend's gonna go on forever."
About the funeral she attended this weekend, Mariah said, “It was such a class act. The way she went out and the way family dealt with it, I was very moved."”
Here's video of her speaking on Whitney below. She also unveiled her new PSA for the American Heart Association (which she co-directed herself) and confirmed that Nick is doing much better after his health scare. And that he is making necessary lifestyle changes--including quitting his daily morning radio show in L.A.

Kristin Cavallari sent photographers swarming to nab the first photo of her pregnant baby bump the other night, but would you even know the difference?
Seriously, had she not announced she's pregnant, we're not even sure the picture below would even generate the obligatory pregnancy rumors online.
In any case, here she is at Wednesday's This Means War premiere ...
"Such a fun movie," the expectant reality star, 25, Tweeted afterward. "Here is a pic from last night's premiere and [you] can see a little baby bump."
Debatable, but she's not far along right now, and it's a nice thought!
Cavallari wore a dress by Maria Lucia Hohan and accessorized with Isharya earrings. She and fiancé Jay Cutler announced the pregnancy in January.
"We couldn't be more excited," the Chicago Bears star, 28, Tweeted.

There are some givens for this Sunday's 84th Annual Academy Awards telecast: Billy Crystal will likely slay it with his usual humorous monologue and "safe" appeal; Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close star Max von Sydow will continue his silent streak by not winning Best Supporting Actor, and Miss Piggy and Kermit will make for the evening's best presenters. Aside from that, the telecast should offer more surprises than usual. Sure there are slam dunks like Rango taking home Best Animated Feature, and The Artist will probably win big in most major categories, but I suspect a bunch of upsets in the acting categories. Here are my predictions for how the night will play out in every category. On a related note, I'm hoping Melissa McCarthy wins Best Supporting Actress for Bridesmaids. I think Octavia Spencer has this in the bag, and she deserves it, but McCarthy's win could help land more comedic performances Oscar nods in the future. Yes, I'm still reeling for little golden love for Paul Rudd in I Love You, Man? Slappin' the bass. Best PictureThe Artist should and will win this and become just the second silent film to win an Oscar for Best Picture. A dark horse here, however, is The Descendants which earned a Golden Globe win for Best Drama. It's not likely. It'd be fitting if the "dark horse" was War Horse but that film has no legs. Get it? Hugo has a chance here, but it's a kids movie for adults and kiddie flicks get no Oscar love -- Ever. Had The Help had a bigger showing nominations-wise, I'd say that would be the best chance to unseat The Artist. But it didn't, and it won't. Best Actor This category could be the biggest shock of the night. It's essentially down to George Clooney for The Descendants and Jean Dujardin for The Artist. Months ago, I thought Brad Pitt would finally win for his career-best turn in Moneyball. If Clooney and Dujardin split the vote, look for that to happen and I'd be delighted. But it won't. My gut says Clooney will win this for his brilliant turn, but if Dujardin wins it would come as a surprise to only the people who bought tickets to The Artist not expecting it was a silent film. Best Actress:Extremely Loud, and Glenn Close? Sorry no. This is a battle between Iron Lady Meryl Streep and The Help's Viola Davis. One day Streep is going to win her third Oscar, but my gut tells me it won't be this year. Actually, my gut can't speak because it's an organ. But, Davis should have this in the bag and deserves it. This will be viewed as an upset. Best Supporting Actor: Please, Christopher Plummer has had this won since the summer for his subtly moving performance in Beginners. The only possible upset is for fellow 82-year-old Max von Sydow to win, but I doubt it. If it were up to me, Nolte would take this home. Best Supporting Actress: Remember when Kate Hudson was a lock for Almost Famous and lost to Marcia Gay Harden for Pollock? Well, I do. This category sometimes serves up the most surprises (ugh, Tilda Swinton over Amy Ryan -- really?) and I expect it to happen again. I'm going to say McCarthy or Jessica Chastain pull an upset here. I may be wrong and probably will be. I'd personally vote for Chastain, but the Academy can make history this Sunday if Davis and Spencer win since two women of color have never won in acting categories on the same night. That's just nuts by the way that it's taken this long. Best Director: I can't pronounce his name nor will anyone presenting him the Oscar, but The Artist'sMichel Hazanavicius will take the honor. Martin Scorsese could surprise here, but I can't see him being honored so soon after The Departed. I don't know about you, I'd rather have Marty win again for a movie with bloodshed. -- And the rest...Adapted Screenplay: It's beyond me how The Help was left off. Because it was it's a three-way battle between Hugo, The Descendants, and Moneyball. I know Aaron Sorkin just won last year for The Social Network, but he deserves it again this year. That said, Descendants is so winning this category. Maybe Alexander Payne will make more movies if he keeps winning Oscars every time he makes a movie? Original Screenplay: Woody Allen for Midnight in Paris. It's about time, but Woody's finally going to get another gold statue. Animated Feature: Rango hands down. Art Direction:: Hugo, which had the most nominations with 11, will clean up on technical categories like this one. It deserves to. Cinematography: I think The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo's Jeff Cronenweth deserves it, but look for The Tree of Life to win this one. It'll be the Academy's way of honoring a truly great or truly "WTF" movie depending who you talk to. Costume Design: Look for The Artist to take this one home. Editing: Moneyball has a shot here and deserves it, but I suspect The Artist will prevail here. Foreign Language Film:Iran's A Separation should have this -- easy. Makeup:I know they made Glenn Close become a man, and Margaret Thatcher look like Meryl Streep or I probably mean that the other way around, but I think the Academy will give some props to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 as sort of a lifetime achievement thing for the series. Original Score: John Williams is nominated twice here for scores that, in my opinion, didn't live up to his standards. Howard Shore, who earned a gold guy for Lord of the Rings had the best score in my book, but look for Ludovic Bource's work on The Artist to win. Original Song: What a disgrace this category has become. Oh well, at least Bret McKenzie will win for "Man or Muppet" from The Muppets. Sound Editing: I'd love to see Drive win here. Actually, I'd love to go back in time and somehow get that amazing film more Oscar nominations. I mean, really? Seriously Oscar voters? One nomination? Anyway, Hugo's got this one. Sound Mixing: Hugowill win this, but personally, I'd vote for Moneyball here. Visual Effects: Again, I'm saying Hugo will win this although it wouldn't surprise me if Rise of the Planet of the Apes nabbed it. Animated ShortLa Luna should make Pixar smile in a smile-less Oscar year. Live Action Short : I think it'll be The Shore, a wonderful bio-pic of Dinah Shore. OK, I made that up but it should win and that's cool because Terry George would be one of the winners. He should've gotten love for 2004's Hotel Rwanda. Documentary Feature: I'll say Undefeated because it would be terribly ironic if it lost. Documentary Short: Something tells me the timely The Tsunami and the Cherry Blossom will win it. Wrestling legend Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka predicts The Descendants.
