Keith Brown Sentenced to Prison for Sexual Abuse of Kids

Keith Brown, the father of a former classic piano-playing group titled the 5 Browns, was sentenced in court today.

In February, the 55-year old pleaded guilty to sexually abusing three of his kids many years ago, a crime for which he'll spend at least a decade in prison. He'll spend 10 years to life in Utah state prison, a clerk court confirms.

Brown's crimes took place between November 1990 and October 1992; and March 1997 and March 1998.

Daughters Desirae, 32, Deondra, 30, and Melody, 26, have issued a statement saying they came forward about the incidents once rumors that their father would be managing a new band - comprised of teenagers - began to circulate.

Dominique Wilkins is obviously NOT one to play with. We reported earlier today about a former NBA ref and suit store owner who attempted to attack Mr. Wilkins after last night's Hawks game. Now the video footage is out and it shows how Mr. Wilkins punched homeboy OUT.

So Rashan Mechel attacked NBA legend Dominique Wilkins last night on the press row (right in front the court) at the ATL Hawks game last night. Rashan claimed that Dominique owed him money for some custom suits he copped at his store. So he THOUGHT he was going to go and make Mr. Wilkins pay up.

Instead--he caught a few punches to the face, and not a scratch on Dominique. Please peep the vid, courtesy of TMZ. Dom punched dude dead in the face, then walked off to rip off his own suit coat and tie and shoes so he could gp back in for more.

Rashan was just released on a $1000 bond this afternoon after being charged with simple battery.  And he now says he's going to sue because he never touched the NBAer.  Y'all better stop playin' with Dom!

Prime Focus to Convert 'Star Wars Episode I' to 3D -- What Else Have They Done?

We remain unconvinced that converting 'Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace' to 3D will make the film any less boring than it already is, but that isn't stopping George Lucas from forging ahead with plans to bring an eye-popping version of the feature back to theaters next February. Just think how exciting all those Galactic Senate scenes will be in three dimensions!

Last night, Lucas finally spilled the beans on who will handle the movie's 2D-to-3D conversion process: post-production firm Prime Focus.

'Black Swan' Body Double Sarah Lane Stirs Controversy

Lane says there's been a 'cover-up' to promote idea that Natalie Portman did most of the dancing.

"It was really extreme," Natalie Portman told MTV News in November. "And I definitely felt both physical and mental aftershocks from the experience, because it was the first thing I've ever done that was this physically demanding on top of an emotionally demanding part."

She was speaking about the 10 months she spent training to play a ballerina in "Black Swan," a role that would earn her a Best Actress Oscar in February. Now that awards season is over, however, a controversy has erupted over how much of the dancing in "Black Swan" was executed by Portman and how much was the work of her professional ballet-dancing body doubles.

Sarah Lane, a 27-year-old soloist at the American Ballet Theatre who stood in for Portman in the film, told Entertainment Weekly that she has been the victim of a "cover-up" meant to tout Portman's work at the expense of her own.

"Of the full body shots, I would say 5 percent are Natalie. All the other shots are me," she said. "They wanted to create this idea in people's minds that Natalie was some kind of prodigy or so gifted in dance and really worked so hard to make herself a ballerina in a year and a half for the movie, basically because of the Oscar. It is demeaning to the profession and not just to me. I've been doing this for 22 years."

Following Lane's comments, Fox Searchlight released a statement that was both supportive of the dancer but emphasized the amount of Portman's own ballet that made it into the movie. "We were fortunate to have Sarah there to cover the more complicated dance sequences and we have nothing but praise for the hard work she did," the statement read. "However, Natalie herself did most of the dancing featured in the final film."

The debate caught fire last week after Benjamin Millepied, Portman's fiancé and "Black Swan" choreographer, told the Los Angeles Times, "There are articles now talking about her dance double [Lane] that are making it sound like [Lane] did a lot of the work, but really, she just did the footwork, and the fouettés, and one diagonal [phrase] in the studio. Honestly, 85 percent of that movie is Natalie."

MTV News asked Portman's reps for comment but had not heard back as of press time.

U.K. comedian Russell Brand has not one but two new movies out next month: the animated Easter feature 'Hop' and the comedic remake 'Arthur.'

Brand is a funny guy, sure. He came over to America with balls of steel, insulting our pop stars (Jonas Brothers) and then marrying one (Katy Perry). Say what you will about his controversial hosting job at the 2008 VMAs or his explicit drug-fueled tell-all 'My Booky Wook' or his past troubles with sex addiction, but Brand has undeniable comedic presence.

The Week in Geek: New G.I. Joe Documentary 'Code Name: Blast Off' Goes Behind-the-Scenes at Hasbro

We've all heard the news by now that 'GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra' is getting a sequel soon, but you don't have to wait another year for another GI Joe movie. There's a new feature-length documentary, 'Code Name: Blast Off,' that covers Hasbro's insanely successful GI Joe re-branding effort of 1982, turning the unassuming military doll into a bonafide larger-than-life franchise.

The film was created by Tristan Rudat, filmmaker and son of Hasbro designer Ron Rudat who visually spearheaded the GI Joe line from its ground-breaking heyday of 1982 till 1987. 'Code Name: Blast Off' (previously titled Operation Blast Off') tells the story of the re-branding effort through first-hand interviews with the artists, writers, and designers, as well as archival photos and art. Their effort just plain worked -- the revitalized, more super-heroic Joes have seen an incredible amount of longevity, existing in one form or another for over 25 years.

Poor Suri Cruise. Almost five, girl is "suffering the effects" of Tom Cruise's religion, Scientology, according to Katie Holmes' parents and Life & Style.

Scientologists treat kids like adults, "independent individuals capable of making their own decisions," reports the magazine's so-called expert.

For Suri Cruise, that means 1 a.m. dinners, playing with penis-shaped candies and still being allowed to use a pacifier, leaving Katie's folks "really upset."

NO BOUNDARIES: That's what Tom and Katie allegedly set for Suri.

"They're very worried that Tom isn't letting Suri enjoy the childhood she deserves because of his Scientology beliefs," says an alleged inside source.

"She often throws tantrums when she's out with Katie and Tom," the insider says, recalling that on March 15, Katie couldn't get Suri into her car seat.

"As always, Suri won and didn't have to sit in her car seat."

Reports flew the past few weeks that there was a chance Evelyn Lozada might be leaving "Basketball Wives" before the start of season 3.  But apparently things have changed as she and Shaunie O'Neal tweeted about filming recently.  No shocker there.  Get the deets on what they (and Rihanna) said inside...

 

Evelyn Lozada and Jennifer Williams posed together during the first night of filming "Basketball Wives" season 3.  The show's producer Shaunie O'Neal later tweeted:

Ryan Phillippe Baby Daddy Rumor: Possibly True!

Model Alexis Knapp is allegedly seven months pregnant with Ryan Phillippe's child, having dated him briefly last summer/fall, which we reported yesterday.

The timeline makes sense, but other than that, there was little evidence to go on. Until the actor privately acknowledged it's a possibility, sources say.

Ryan Phillippe will "gladly" take a DNA test to determine if he's the dad, TMZ reports, although he will not do so until the baby is born for health reasons.

There are prenatal paternity tests, but there's a slight risk and The Lincoln Lawyer star does not want to risk the health of Alexis Knapp or her child.

Ryan sources says he will obviously step up and provide all the support necessary for Alexis' unborn baby, provided that the baby is indeed his.

There are reports Ryan and Alexis were boyfriend and girlfriend, but it was brief it so. The couple dated for a while but it was never serious.

Ryan dated Alexis in between Abbie Cornish and current GF Amanda Seyfried. He has two children from his marriage to Reese Witherspoon.

Vince Neil Accused of Battery Against Ex

Vince Neil is in trouble with the law again.

The rocker, who was arrested for DUI in June, reportedly got into it with an ex-girlfriend in Las Vegas last night.

The alleged incident took place at the Las Vegas Hilton, according to TMZ, as Neil stands accused of storming in and hurling obscenities at this woman and her two friends. Security called the police on the Mötley Crüe vocalist, who the ex claims got physical with her.

A battery report was filed, but no arrest made.

Neil spent 10 days in jail last month on the aforementioned drunk driving charge.

A little more than an hour ago, singer Tiffany Evans ("Promise Ring," "I'll Be There") announced on Twitter that she is parting ways with MUSIC WORLD and Mathew Knowles.  She tweeted:

"The Announcement that I was going to make is that I am No Longer Managed by Mathew knowles. In all Honesty it was a Great Learning Experience but the BEST decision was made for me. I appreciate so much the support that The Music World family has shown me but feel best at this stage in my career to go a different direction with my choice in management.

I am so very pleased with it and I can't begin to tell you how I free I am and the excitement behind what is going on with my project now! I truly know NOW that this is the start of a great journey in my career!. Can't wait to share the OTHER exciting news! Love you #TeamTiff!! ; -)Cheers to success!"

Mathew said in statement he released this morning that he would be parting ways with Tiffany.  And he's focusing on his Destiny's Child and gospel projects.  Good luck to her.

ARRESTED: Baller Jalen Rose Crashes Car, Popped For DUI!

Retired NBA star, Jalen Rose, has gotten into some trouble with the law in Michigan.  News on the Fab 5 member's car crash and subsequent arrest, when you read on....

A few weeks ago, Jalen Rose was traveling back to his hometown Detroit to tend to the opening of his Jalen Rose Leadership Academy -- a charter school designed to provide under-privileged youth with college prep experience.

So much for setting an example, because dude was driving on the icy roads and crashed his car.  And after taking roadside sobriety tests, he was arrested for driving under the influence.

Jalen's attorney tells TMZ:

"We look forward to working with the authorities in Michigan and addressing these matters in court, not in the press. We have no comment at this time."

Jalen got into a bit of a war of words with fellow NBA star Grant Hill last month after Jalen inadvertently called him an Uncle Tom and other cruelties regarding their differing college basketball experiences.

Teen Mom Throwdown: Jenelle Evans PUMMELS Britany Truett

Jenelle Evans has found a way to make Amber Portwood look stable.

The Teen Mom 2 star got into it with some girl named Britany Truett this week, and you can't even call it a catfight - it's a one-sided, violent beating.

With her loser friends cheering (and apparently filming) and yelling "get 'er" and "that's what you get," Jenelle Evans laid into Britany again and again.

Seriously, she landed like 20 blows to the face as Brit shrieked in pain.

TOO FAR: This fight was over REAL fast, but Evans kept at it.

It's not quite clear what prompted this, but Jenelle, 19, clearly instigated it, spewing nasty insults before throwing down and pounding her senseless.

After repeated shots to the face, with Britany bleeding and unable to defend herself, one of Jenelle's idiot friends finally restrains her out-of-control ass.

Sources close to the incident claim it had something to do with Jenelle's boyfriend. You can watch the video here, but it's more disturbing than funny.

Though they are given vicious snarls, swords and guns, the leading ladies of Snyder's latest are nothing more than cinematic figures of enslavement given only the most minimal fight. Their rebellion is one of imaginative whimsy in a heavily misogynistic world that is barely questioned or truly challenged. Instead of empowering their female brethren, the women of 'Sucker Punch' work as warriors protecting the male gaze and male authority.

The women of Zack Snyder's 'Sucker Punch' are not empowered.

Though they are given vicious snarls, swords and guns, the leading ladies of Snyder's latest are nothing more than cinematic figures of enslavement given only the most minimal fight. Their rebellion is one of imaginative whimsy in a heavily misogynistic world that is barely questioned or truly challenged. Instead of empowering their female brethren, the women of 'Sucker Punch' work as warriors protecting the male gaze and male authority.

Teen Mom Fight Instigator Speaks Out

The violent side of Jenelle Evans wasn't the only reason this Teen Mom 2 star gave a vicious beatdown to Britany Truett last week. She was also pushed into her enemy. Literally.

Now, Brittany Maggard, the girl who gave Jenelle the shove that propelled her toward Truett, has spoken out about her motivation behind the incident. Give her credit for honest, at least.

"Jenelle wanted to go and fight Britany because of something with her man," Maggard tells TMZ. "She was scared and wouldn't go fight by herself so I went to help her out."

Fights with her mom are suddenly the least of Jenelle Evans' worries.

Added Maggard, who has been arrested along with Evans and Truett: "I instigated it, but what the hell are we supposed to do? I wanted to see them fight!

"I'm pissed, though, because I went down to help her out, we both ended up in jail, she got bailed out before me and when I called her to get me out, she didn't come."

The nerve of some people. Some majorly troubled, in-need-of-assistance, by-no-means-worthy-of-the-fame/money-that-accompanies-a-reality-show people.

Exclusive Sucker Punch Premiere Photos

The world premiere of Warner Bros Pictures' Sucker Punch took place in a huge tent set up on Hollywood Blvd in front of the historic Grauman's Chinese Theatre. And the tent wasn't for show, it was to keep the stars (and media) out of the rain. But even with horrible weather by Southern California standards, the 'black' carpet was packed with Sucker Punch people (Jena Malone even made the event despite feeling under the weather).

Hitting the black carpet to pose and chat were Emily Browning, Jena Malone, Jamie Chung, Abbie Cornish, Vanessa Hudgens, Carla Gugino, Scott Glenn, and writer/director Zack Snyder with his wife, producer Deborah Snyder. Check out our exclusive gallery of photos from the world premiere:

OH SNAP! Singer Angie Stone ARRESTED!

Well I can say I never thought I'd see the day.  Angie Stone--neo soul crooner of "Brotha" and "No More Rain" and former star of "Celebrity Fit Club" was arrested in Georgia yesterday.

 

At least it wasn't for drugs.  Deets when you read on....

Singer Angie Stone--who shares a son with her ex D'Angelo (who has seen his own fair share of jail cells)--was arrested yesterday due to driving with a suspended license.

She was allegedly caught speeding in Georgia, according to TMZ, and was pulled over.  But since she has a suspended license, Ms. Stone was booked on both the speeding charge and the suspended license charge and released an hour later.

Damn homie.  Story developing....

'Sucker Punch' Stars Hope Action Flick 'Hits You In The Gut'

For those who've seen the trailers, TV spots and highly stylized posters, you're likely aware that "Sucker Punch" descends upon theaters on Friday. Zack Snyder's estrogen-fueled flick has been billed as a curious, complex, action-adventure-fantasy, but despite the promotional push, it's safe to say that plenty of people are still scratching their heads, wondering, "What the heck is 'Sucker Punch'?"

MTV News headed out to the film's star-studded, slightly rain-soaked premiere in Hollywood on Wednesday night to find out.

"Sucker punch means you don't know what's coming," Vanessa Hudgens said simply. "It's being knocked out by something unexpected," co-star Jena Malone added.

"Sucker punch is this idea of taking an unexpected blow," Abbie Cornish said, adding in a brief plot summary to her definition as well. "A lot of the girls are totally unprepared for what's about to happen to them. They've been living in this institution and Baby Doll [played by Emily Browning] comes along and changes their whole perception of freedom, of hope, of escapism," she explained. "And so their ways of life are challenged, they're sucker-punched with this whole idea of freedom."

Director Zack Snyder, who created the story along with co-writer Steve Shibuya, continued with the "expect the unexpected" theme.

"I think it means two things: If you have preconceived ideas about what these girls are capable of, you're going to get a sucker punch," he said. "And also too, there's actually a thing in the movie, a physical thing that supplies the sucker punch as well."

Carla Gugino said the title of the film and the idea itself are fun because there's a lot left up to interpretation or theories. She also echoed the sentiments of her co-stars.

"To me, a sucker punch is one of those things you least expect, that you're unprepared for, but that hits you in the gut," she said. "And I think that hopefully this movie is, and this movie embodies that."

With Zack Snyder's 'Superman' reboot dominating the headlines lately (hurray for casting news!), it seems like the perfect time to take a look back at Bryan Singer's 2006 attempt to relaunch the franchise: 'Superman Returns,' which is exactly what the filmmaker did during a recent interview with website Voices From Krypton.

The director was unusually candid in discussing his 2006 rebooting of the franchise, which earned $200 million at the box office but still didn't recoup its production budget. Singer talks at length about what his vision was for the film, how that may not have jibed with what comic fans were expecting and why being too much of a fan of a specific property can make you less qualified to adapt it. Armie Hammer to Star in Relativity's Snow White

The Social Network standout Armie Hammer has signed up to play Prince Andrew Alcott in Relativity Media's untitled Snow White project (which we've all been referring to as The Brothers Grimm: Snow White). Hammer will be starring alongside Julia Roberts in the drama based on the Brothers Grimm story and directed by Tarsem Singh (The Cell and the upcoming Immortals).

Hammer, one of the nicest actors we've come across, is currently wrapping up work on Clint Eastwood's J. Edgar opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in the title role.

Relativity confirmed principal photography will begin in May with a June 29, 2012 release date set (Universal's Snow White and the Huntsman won't hit theaters until December 2012).

Viggo Mortensen's Not Doing Snow White and the Huntsman

Talks have apparently completely broken off and Viggo Mortensen will not be taking on the role of the Huntsman in Universal Pictures' Snow White and the Huntsman, one of the 800 Snow White projects currently in the works. Okay, so 800 is an exaggeration, but Universal's Snow White is one of three major films in the works about the fairy tale character. Universal's Snow White will be in competition with Relativity Media's The Brothers Grimm: Snow White starring Julia Roberts and Disney's Snow and the Seven which has Francis Lawrence as director.
