Katrina Darrell, the American Idol contestant who rose to prominence in 2009 when she auditioned in a bikini and clashed with judge Kara DioGuardi, has been arrested for DUI.
As first reported by TMZ, Darrell was pulled over in Pomona at 12:16 am.m. PST today and allegedly told police she was on her way to a local hospital because her mom - who was sitting shotgun - had fallen down and injured herself.
The police let her go as a result... but she then ran a red light and crashed into another car!
The former Idol hopeful tried to flee the scene, was pulled over again by cops who smelled alcohol on her breath and proceeded to fail a field sobriety test by blowing somewhere between .15 and .17, twice the legal limit in California.
Sources say Darrell was crying throughout the ordeal and released around 6 a.m. from the police station. She may also face charges for the aforementioned hit-and-run.
Isn't strange there hasn't been a horror film called The Occult before? You'd think that title would have been used once or twice by now. Anyway, a supernatural thriller with that title is currently shooting in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Lily Collins is the fairest of the fair while Julia Roberts gets to get her evil on in Mirror Mirror, the fairy tale comedy directed by Tarsem Singh (Immortals). This take on the classic story is much lighter in tone than the usual Snow White tale, and Roberts and her co-stars - including Nathan Lane and Armie Hammer - got to camp it up a little.
As for playing evil (something she doesn't do very often), Roberts tapped into her own experiences to play a wicked Queen. "[...]Without naming names, I drew from a couple of people I know better than I wish I did and found it very fun and helpful."

From the Movie: In the movie, the audience and Peeta himself realized that he had no chance of surviving in the Games. Peeta had no valuable survival skills except being able to wrestle someone. One thing that Peeta did have was his ability to win over a crowd and make people like him. The one thing that will help him survived in the Games was to gain sponsors. Peeta realized this early on the movie (him waving at the crowd while in the train). In the movie, Peeta seemed desperate to survive and the fact that Katniss got all the attention without even trying must have been excruciating for him. The look of jealousy in his face proved this. Keeping this in mind, declaring his love to Katniss was a tactical move. A well hidden motive in which only Peeta can pull off. No one will suspect him of his motive because he comes off as a good, innocent guy.
From the Book: I cannot tell his motive in the book since it was entirely on Katniss's point of view. It also been a while since I have read the first book and I cannot remember all the details. However, I do not think that declaring his love to Katniss in the book was entirely because of genuine love.
In the end, Peeta must have been desperate to survive in the arena too. I mean who wouldn't? Peeta had zero chance of surviving and Haymitch favored Katniss. He had to rely on himself and the only skill he had which was to make people like him. Haymitch stated Peeta did it to make people like Katniss. Was this reason even valid? I mean people were already interested in Katniss at that time.
One question that puzzled me was why Peeta joined the careers. If he wanted to protect Katniss, why did he not just stayed with her instead of joining the careers? Why did he not tell Katniss his plans? Same with not telling her that he will declare his love on live television. Keeping it a secret made it even more suspicious. Why did he decided to join the careers? I believe that Peeta had thought that it was his only way of surviving. Peeta knew Katniss can hunt, climb trees and where would it lead him if he had stayed with Katniss in the very beginning? I believe that he would have been dead early on. I do not even think he knew whether Katniss would protect him.
Peeta's wanting to survive and not having anyone to rely on (not even haymitch) resulted in him declaring his love and him joining the careers. I did love Katniss, don't get me wrong. However, I believe that initially, his actions were not to SOLELY protect Katniss. This then changes later on when Katniss decided to protect Peeta. I believe that this intensified the love he felt for her and made him strongly trust her. So strong that he was willing to die for her in the end.
Conclusion: It was really hard to figure out the real Peeta and his motives since the books were entirely on Katniss's POV. His unwillingness to reveal his true self to Katniss made it even worse to figure him out. Maybe I am wrong. I haven't been nice to Peeta these days. More questions on The Hunger Games:

Nearly 15 years after "Titanic" became the biggest movie ever to grace the silver screen, director James Cameron has expanded his blockbuster into the third dimension.
On April 4, "Titanic" sets sail in 3-D after a painstaking conversion that Cameron believes enhances the picture's overall effect. MTV News spoke with the director in London, on the red carpet for the U.K. premiere of the re-release, which hits theaters days before the 100th anniversary of the ship's sinking.
"It's really a dream come true to get this film back into cinema because it just has a whole different effect on people when they take three hours out of their life to just sit and have the unbroken experience and let the story take them along," Cameron said. "It can be quite a profoundly emotional experience, and you're not going to get that watching it on video. The 3-D just enhances the whole thing. It takes it to a whole different level. "
Cameron decided to begin the process in 2005, while he was prepping his next ambitious project, "Avatar."
"I was pretty convinced at that time that 3-D was really going to transform the cinema experience. I wanted cinema owners, the exhibitors, to embrace the conversion to digital projection, so that there'd be a place to show 3-D movies," Cameron said. "I was thinking of 'Avatar,' but I was also saying, 'Look, we can do films like "Titanic." We can take "Jaws," "Star Wars," whatever your favorite movies are, we can convert them to 3-D and give them a whole new life.' So we started doing test to see what a conversion of 'Titanic' would look like. We did a minute and a half of it, and it looked spectacular. "
The 3-D re-release offered Cameron the opportunity to reflect on what made "Titanic" a worldwide sensation. Cameron said he feels that it didn't have everything to do with the movie's young star Leonardo DiCaprio.
"Women could relate to it, not just because of the Leo-mania thing, but because a lot of young women struggle with the sense of identity in societal expectation. The character of Rose was really written very much about those ideas," Cameron said. "I think it was a simplification after the fact that [DiCaprio] is why women were so attracted to the movie."

Shaq hit up Sway In The Morning on Shade 45 Sirius/XM radio yesterday and cleared up a few rumors. Specifically a rumor that Shaq and Hoopz split up recently after he kicked her out of his house he moved her into.
When asked if the two had broken up, Shaq responded (while telling the hosts they should have checked with him first before running with what a certain site said):
“We fine. We good. Period....When I want y’all to know something, I got the number up here. I’ll call. If I try to respond to what everybody say, I would have to rent this building out and rent out every floor.

The Tribeca Film Festival announced Marvel's The Avengers will be this year's closing night film, with the screening of the superhero movie on April 28th set to celebrate real heroes. The festival says heroes from the police and fire departments, along with first responders and members of the military will have an opportunity to not only attend The Avengers screening but also meet the cast of one of 2012's most anticipated movies.
Yesterday, Step Up 4 released a new trailer and a new name, Step Up Revolution.
The newly minted dance-fest shifts to Miami this time around, with a budding romance between a flash mob leader and a young woman who strives to become a professional dancer ... standard Step Upoperating procedure really.
The franchise maintains its So You Think You Can Dance connections with its lead star, Kathryn McCormick alongside tWitch, with Travis Wall as choreographer.

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney was endorsed by former President George H.W. Bush this week, meeting with the former Commander-in-Chief.
The nation's 41st president said that Romney is a good man who would make a "great president." And he says it's time for Republicans to unite behind Romney.
The pair, joined by former first lady Barbara Bush, briefly faced reporters Thursday night in Bush Sr.'s Houston office to make the endorsement official.
The 87-year-old Bush had informally endorsed the GOP frontrunner on multiple occasions in recent months, but hadn't appeared on his behalf until now.
One of Bush's sons, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, endorsed Romney last week. Another son, former President George W. Bush, has stayed out of the GOP race.
It's unclear the degree to which his input would be welcomed.
"I haven't met with President George W. Bush. We speak from time to time," Romney replied when asked if he had sought the younger Bush's endorsement.
George W. Bush, who lives in Dallas and has kept a very low profile since leaving office, did not attend any of Romney's six Texas fundraisers this month.
The Bush legacy of gaping budget deficits, two wars and low approval ratings has merited no more than a fleeting reference from Romney and his rivals.
W.'s virtual absence from the presidential contest seemed to surprise even his father as reporters visited H.W.'s office to watch him endorse Romney.
"Has he endorsed you?" George H.W. Bush quietly asked Romney as reporters started to leave the room. "Uh, no, no," Romney replied.
Will Ferrell will be telling San Diego to stay classy again as anchorman Ron Burgundy. According to the bit Ferrell did - in character as Burgundy, complete with a jazz flute - on Conan O'Brien's show March 28th, he'll be returning to the anchor chair for a sequel to the 2004 hit comedy, Anchorman. "It's official - there will be a sequel," said Ferrell.

With "The Hunger Games" slaughtering its competition at the box office this past weekend, everyone's eyes are locked on the movie's three main stars to see what's next. For those of you who loved Liam Hemsworth's short but sweet scenes as Katniss Everdeen's best friend, Gale, you're in luck.
While we're sure the Aussie actor is enjoying the benefits of working hard on the film, he's not sitting around waiting to film the sequel. He has quite a few other films in the works. Here are a few things to look forward to from the youngest Hemsworth brother.
First on the list is his role as Bill "the Kid" Timmons, the newest addition to Sylvester Stallone's team, in "The Expendables 2." Mr. Church, played by Bruce Willis, enlists the Expendables for a job that seems like an easy paycheck. But when a member of the crew is brutally murdered, the Expendables seek revenge and find themselves on enemy turf with an unexpected threat looming over their heads. Also returning to the movie are Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture and Terry Crews. Yu Nan joins Hemsworth as another of the team's newcomers in the film, which is set to release on August 17.
After watching Hemsworth battle it out in that action flick, you can catch him in a different type of warring film titled "AWOL." Based on a true story, the film follows a young Vietnam soldier who returns home to the States in search of his newly ex-girlfriend. Austin Stowell plays the broken-hearted soldier, Joiner, and Aimee Teegarden plays Juniper, his high school sweetheart. Hemsworth stars as Joiner's best friend, Wright, who accompanies him on the risky journey. The backdrop of the film, which will be released later this year, is the anti-war movement at the University of Michigan.
Josh Hutcherson isn't the only 'Hunger Games' actor who may be working with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Next year, Hemsworth will star alongside the wrestler-turned-actor in "Empire State." Also based on a true story, the movie follows a plan set in motion by two childhood friends (one of whom will be played by Hemsworth) to rob an armored car depository. Johnson plays an NYPD officer who attempts to stop the cash heist, and Emma Roberts joins the cast as a waitress who takes interest in Hemsworth's character.
Then, in 2014, Johnson and Hemsworth will reunite for "Arabian Nights." The tale weaves together some of our favorite adventures as a young commander named Ali Baba (Hemsworth) teams up with Sinbad (Johnson), Aladdin and Aladdin's genie in order to rescue Scheherazade and her kingdom from the dark forces of a sorcerer.
And, of course, you will see Hemsworth reprise his role as Gale Hawthorne in the November 22, 2013, release of "Catching Fire." Gale will be in the picture more often this time around, and we're excited to see how Hemsworth develops the character.
Amandla Stenberg, the 13-year old actress who plays Rue in The Hunger Games, has spoken out on the unexpected, ignorant, racist controversy that has somehow enveloped her beloved character.
In response to posts on Twitter that dared to wonder why Rue was portrayed by an African-American on screen - one actually wrote: "Why did the producer make all the good characters black?" - Stenberg has taken the mature road and released a statement that reads:
"As a fan of the books, I feel fortunate to be part of The Hunger Games family. It was an amazing experience; I am proud of the film and my performance. I want to thank all of my fans and the entire Hunger Games community for their support and loyalty."

On his upcoming "Chapter V"
Trey says it's all about timing and he's in no rush to release the record. He and his record label have come to an understanding that he's going to release mixtapes to build his brand and feed his fans. He did reveal he's recorded 30 songs....but the album isn't done.
On crossing over musically
Trey says he's in no hurry to "cross over" to the Jersey Shore crowd. It's important to him to keep his music urban and have a foothold on R&B.
On why sex is better than love
Trey revealed that he's been in love before and that feeling (of living for someone) far surpasses sex.
On his success so far
Trey defines what success means for himself. He added that he just toured off the success of a mixtape where he sold over 60,000 tickets and tons of merchandise so he isn't worried about industry standards of success.
On rumors he was robbed in Brooklyn
He says he was never robbed in Brooklyn.
On the Trayvon Martin case
He says that the situation is outlandish and it's great that people are taking a stand. But he added, young black men die everyday. We can't let this be a fad. "If we take a stand for something we have to be committed." [Totally agreed.]
On his upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie role
Trey revealed he is the first black actor to be a part of the franchise.

After all the drama of this week's episode and dueling interviews from "BBW" stars Kesha Nichols and Tami Roman, Kenya Bell hopped on the radio (AGAIN) with the same hosts at FM98 WJLB (COCO, Foolish & Mr. Chase) that got Tami upset in the first place.
And once again.....Kenya didn't hold back as the hosts CLOWNED the cast.
Kenya called COCO, Foolish & Mr. Chase to talk about how Tami and Evelyn were infuriated that she wouldn't step up to defend them while the radio show hosts were taking turns clowning on them.
Kenya said that she didn't feel a need to defend them because she barely knew them and she knows that they will take the first opportunity to throw her under the bus.
And in an interesting twist, Kenya said VH1 edited out a part of the confrontation where Kesha told Kenya that she got her husband’s number recently! Maybe that's why those kitten heel (sigh) shoes came off?
Host Foolish asked Kenya “Which b*tch would you like to house-shoe smack the hell out of?” Kenya repsonded, “Obviously right now its Evelyn & Kesha.”
As for that upcoming bottle-throwing incident with Evelyn, Kenya says she only ran because Ev grabbed the bottle. Kenya said she isn’t afraid of ANYONE on the show!

Now that "The Hunger Games" has become a certified blockbuster hit, it's never too early to start thinking about the sequel "Catching Fire" -- or even further ahead, to "Mockingjay." We're still a few years away before the third and final book of the series premieres on the big screen, but that hasn't stopped tributes from making their own big-budget fan film. "The Mockingjay Propo" hit the web this week, depicting a tense action scene from the final book. And this wasn't just a few friends using their dad's camera in the backyard. For producer Jonathan Parris, the project was a mammoth undertaking that required his visual effects, costume, prop and set design skills. Moviefone corresponded over e-mail with Parris to get the skinny on the audacious project. How long did the production take from start to finish? I originally started pre-production back in May of 2011. At that point, I was going to do a scene from "The Hunger Games," and I had started by constructing a replica of the silver bow prop that was used in the movie. After a few meetings with a couple of guys I do real video work with, it was ultimately decided that a better route would be [to] shoot a scene from one of the next two books. Otherwise, we would just be duplicating what [Gary] Ross and Lionsgate were doing for the feature film. We picked a scene from "Mockingjay," as it was the most distanced from the first book. Any designs for costumes, props, sets, etc. would be completely different than what would be seen from the first book, so we could take a lot of liberties. I worked on concept designs between real jobs through October. And then in November, I started focusing intently on this film. I had to take off a lot of time from my day job as a hardware store clerk to put as much work into it as needed. I scheduled the shoot on [actress] Kate [Farrell]'s winter break and flew her down to Tennessee to shoot on December 29-30, 2011. So, from November up until [March 27], this project has been taking up every waking minute. How did you raise the funding for the project? I looked at this as an investment in the future of my career, so it all came out of my own savings. I knew it could not make any money back, due to book copyrights, but it seemed to me that it would still not be much different than creating an advertisement. Only, instead of advertising a product to sell, I was hoping to promote the work I do, as well as all the other extremely talented artisans that came in on the project along the way. Do you have any future "Hunger Games" ideas in the pipeline? Not as far as personal projects. (It is far too expensive to keep self funding visual effects short films!) But, the ultimate goal would be to get a job working on parts of the visual effects for the next two (or three) Hunger Games movies! She alludes to some cheating going down, which ended their 5 year relationship, and dished on why she left Diddy & Bad Boy to do her own thing....
Dawn is officially an independent solo artist. She discussed this morning with The Breakfast Club on Power 105 that once Diddy said he was done with their group Dirty Money, she asked Diddy & Jimmy Iovine to let her go.
She just released her new EP Armor On as a prelude to her upcoming full length studio album. And she revealed the ups and downs with that, saying it's a difficult journey.
Dawn also revealed she's a single lady, but dating. And as for what went down with her ex-boyfriend Que--she said she never wants to put anybody in a bad light, but she's a woman who deserves more. When asked if he cheated, she didn't confirm...but definitely didn't deny. Actually sounded more like a Yes to us. Tisk tisk tisk.

To anyone accusing her of being wasteful or irresponsible on a planet already short on resources, Michelle Duggar of 19 Kids and Counting offers a strong rebuke.
In an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network, Michelle was asked how one can justify having such a large family in an already overpopulated world.
Duggar said overpopulation is basically a myth. Why? Get ready for this ...
"The idea of overpopulation is not accurate because, really, the whole world population, standing shoulder to shoulder, could fit in the city limits of Jacksonville."
"So if you realize that aspect, we're not anywhere near being overpopulated."
Who knew Jacksonville was that big? Take that, science. Step off.
Michelle Duggar did, with all due respect, go on to discuss how buying used cars, old clothing and living resourcefully can reduce a family's environmental impact.
They also have no debts, reducing their financial burden on others.
Nevertheless, a family of 22? Probably more of strain on the environment than one half its size. Or a quarter of its size. Carbon footprints do exist, like it or not.
According to Duggar, though, other countries have death rates that eclipse birth rates (it's actually quite rare), so there can never be too many babies. Huh?
