Barry Levinson's The Bay Picked Up by Lionsgate

The "found footage eco-horror" film The Bay has been picked up for US distribution by Lionsgate Films. The Bay, also known as Isopod, was directed by Barry Levinson (Sleepers, Wag the Dog), who also co-wrote the script with Michael Wallach.

Commenting on the acquisition, writer/director Levinson said, "It's exciting to see a company like Lionsgate embrace The Bay so enthusiastically. The found footage / multi-platform approach opened up the film to creative possibilities I hadn't encountered in my previous films, and I think these sorts of films will only continue to push boundaries as the technology changes."
