The five-studio bidding match ended with a Warner Bros win. What it won -- for a price tag of just under $2 million, up front -- was the rights to an incomplete, and yet-untitled script for the movie by screenwriter Dan Fogelman according to Deadline. Fogelman, who will receive a little over $3 million upon the film's completion, will bring on Tom Cruise to star, as a politician whose reputation is ruined by a marital affair
Fogelman seems to be a sure thing. Writer of the animated films 'Bolt,' 'Tangled,' and 'Cars,' his latest movie, 'Crazy, Stupid, Love' was purchased by Warner Bros for $2.5 million, and is all set to be a big release this summer. He recently sold 'Imagine,' staring Steve Carrell, to Warner Bros for $3 million, and also intends to direct it. Also in the works for Fogelman is the direction of an adaptation of Jesse Andrews novel 'Me & Earl & The Dying Girl.' 'My Mother's Curse' another of his scripts, is currently in production.
