Channing Tatum on 'Ridiculous' '21 Jump Street' Movie and Johnny Depp's Cameo

In December, the main mix for '21 Jump Street' became official -- Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill would produce and star in the new, cinematic version of the popular '80s television show. And though they're planning to make some changes from the original premise, the team is eager to have one very popular tie to the past -- Johnny Depp.

While talking with the L.A. Times, Tatum explained that the 'Jump Street' powers that be are "actively trying" to get the original star involved in a cameo: "I really hope he does it. It would mean the world to us, and I think everyone wants to see him do it. And he's enough of a madman to do it." But it will, of course, depend on scheduling, especially since the actor has a billion projects in pre- and post-production.

But with or without Depp, what can we expect from this adaptation?
