Swizz Beatz Says He Loves HONESTY In A Woman, Talks Regrets, Alicia & More

Swizz Beatz is a modern day Renaissance man--from being a superstar producer to rapping with some of the hottest rappers in the game to creating art for the top brands in the world to being a daddy to his 4 kids and a husband.

“People play it safe,” he says. “I’m like, ‘F— the rules.’”  Yeah, we noticed.  But despite how we feel about his personal life choices, we can't help but admire how he's gone from 0 to 100 over the years.  Check out excerpts from his latest interview with UPTOWN mag, where he talks regrets and accomplishments, inside....

Swizzy's about to push out his second solo studio album, Haute Living.  But he's also brought his talents outside the studio by designing for Reebok and Aston Martin, being a professor at New York University, he's an avid art collector, he's besties with Jay-Z and Kanye, a husband to Alicia Keys, and a father to his kiddies.

So what's a dude's biggest accomplishment and biggest regret (read between the lines on that one) after being in this game---originally starting out as making beats for the Ruff Riderz--umpteen years?  Check it....

My greatest accomplishment is…
Getting out of the ’hood. Straight up. To be able to get out of the mix and wake up in the middle of the Mediterranean somewhere is a super blessing.

My greatest regret is…
Things that I probably should regret, I don’t because if I didn’t go through certain things, I wouldn’t have been able to elevate. I can offer a generic regret: I regret signing a publishing deal.

The trait I admire most in a woman is…
Honesty.

The trait I admire most in a man is…
Honesty.

The first thing I do in the morning is…
Hit a button and the curtains open and I’m thankful for another day. If my wife is next to me, it’s an instant hug and kiss. Get up, brush the teeth, do this, do that, and then it’s showtime!

From my wife I have learned…
Love.

Honesty?  Ok We'll just let y'all have that one.  But we can't help but love his audacity to take his talents where really no other producer has yet.

Check out the full interview and video over at UPTOWN.
