Actor Andrew Keegan was arrested at a wild house party this weekend, but claims he was "manhandled" by cops strictly to be made an example of.
The 10 Things I Hate About You guy says that the event was actually a fundraiser for three charities that the area police knew about in advance.
Keegan says when cops approached his Marina del Rey home and asked him to turn down the music, he WAS cooperative, contrary to their report.
He said he even spoke to a sergeant "about how we can work together."
But, Keegan explains, [the sergeant] ordered 'arrest him' while my hands were in my pocket. The reason, he claims, is that "they just wanted to make an example of a 'No Tolerance' Independence Day [policy]" in effect.
He was taken down hard and possibly tasered.
It's true that the police swarmed Marina del Rey and neighboring Venice after a spike in violence, including one gang-related fatal shooting.
Keegan wasn't the only one who felt the pinch. Cops made a bunch of arrests over the long weekend, some say to make a statement.
In any case, this is officially the weirdest Andrew Keegan gossip since the alleged terror campaign he waged against Kristi Parrales.
